Description

This is....well, this took a lot longer than I expected.

This is Izrahilan, a character created by ~VoidFire. It's also the first time I've ever done origami with the intention of it actually sort of looking like a particular character, and the first time I've added paint to a model. He's folded from a square of kami paper roughly 8.5", with an excerpt of FOS II printed on it. (It is the first part of Part 6: [link] .) The design is Fernando Gilgado's "Dragonheart" model, which is much more difficult than I anticipated, but it was as close to Void's sketch as I could get.I've been messing with the face too, so it's longer and more elegant, but I don't think I quite have it right. I took liberties with the gold. I figured if gold is a yellow metal, Izra could be gold and still be yellow too.

If you're wondering why I did this...well, this semester sucked. For certain sure it sucked for me, and I learned from Void that it sucked for him as well. He was a large help in keeping me sane this term, and I thought we both deserved rewards. (I seem to live my life on a reward system.) I wanted to fold something awesome, and I thought some awesome fanart would be a good reward for him. I'm proud, so I got my reward. Now to see if he enjoys it half as much as I do (which would mean I enjoy it twice as much as him.)

More "Secret Projects" are in the works. Not all of them are complicated folding, thank goodness.

I LOVE your origami, and this is no exception! I think the painted wings are a nice touch.
