Star Tours

I'm continuing the comic journal theme of "Nerdy thoughts at work" for the week. I have quite a few ideas that run in this vein, so I may have to save some for later.

You know, we never really see stars in Star Tours. Or in Star Wars, for that matter. At least Star Trek mentions them, but we don't see them much in that show either. Dancing with the Stars? There are no giant balls of fusion on that dance floor. In fact, I can't think of a popular thing with "Star" in the title that actually deals with stars. Lame.

Part of this was inspired by an astronomy lesson I gave to That particular one, I may or may not have indulged in a little wine. The lesson went something like this:
"So there's these magnetic fields that are caused by sun stuff moving around."
"What is this sun stuff made of?"
"It's sun shit, okay? That's not the point, I'll get there. Right now we're talking about magentospheres and solar winds and stuff."
"I thought it was gas."
"Hydrogen and helium and....MAGNETS!"
She passed her test, I believe. And yes, I'm the kind of drunk who remembers what happened.
